How many times have you been in the middle of a lesson and the kids have glassed over eyes, their heads on the desks, or have suddenly (and shockingly) become mute? Sometimes you just need to take that short break to get their blood flowing, brains active, and creativity alive.
I created task cards of some teambuilding and short brain breaks to use in my classroom this year. I have used all of these at some point (whether I was a camp counselor or a teacher) and the children seem to enjoy. They take between 2-10 minutes per task, with some taking longer if you have time to continue playing.
There are 5 pages with 4 cards on each page. Print it on card stock, laminate it, cut it, and bind it in the corner with a ring. Keep it on hand for those times when you feel it’s necessary to get your students back.
Also, remember that today is the last day of my sale for the Common Core packets!
